TECH DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO: WORSHIP PASTOR
RELATES CLOSELY WITH: ALL MILL CITY CHURCH STAFF
CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME (40 HOURS)
COMPENSATION: $45,000-$55,000 ANNUALLY, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
OVERVIEW
Mill City Church is a Jesus-church located in the geographical center of Fort Collins, in Northern Colorado. We have a vision to see the local church and NoCo become more like heaven as people encounter Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did together. The Tech Director leads the people, systems, and technical execution for Sunday gatherings and church events. This role oversees audio, video, lighting, broadcast, equipment stewardship, and Tech Lift Team development to create reliable, distraction-free environments where people can encounter Jesus.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors preferred.
Minimum of four years of experience in AVL, live production, broadcast, or related field.
Positive, professional, self-starter who can organize and prioritize responsibilities and projects with minimal direction.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn and become proficient in Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, ProTools, Waves, and YouTube Studio.
Ability to create and maintain strategic systems that support the effectiveness, consistency, and growth of the Tech Ministry.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live production environments.
Experience recruiting, developing, and leading volunteer teams.
Exhibits personal and professional discernment and discretion.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership, discipleship and management of the Tech Lift Team.
Keep tech spaces, including auditorium, broadcast room, and gear storage maintained and organized.
Oversee maintenance, repair, and ordering of all tech equipment and gear.
Oversee PCO scheduling for all gatherings that require Tech teammates
Oversee all audio, video, and lighting throughout the building.
Facilitate trainings to volunteers throughout the year.
Collaborate with other departments on the planning and execution of tech needs for events.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain proper accounting and reporting of credit card use.
Pastoral Care of the Tech Lift Team.
Lead a City Group.
Attend weekly Staff Meetings and monthly All Staff Meetings.
Coach a Second Year Apprentice.
Support church wide special events.
Attend annual staff retreat.
All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS
Standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and navigating stairs.
Ability to climb ladders and/or operate mechanical lifts.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Work in settings with various equipment, cables, stage lights, loud sounds, and visual stimuli.
Work typically occurs Sunday-Thursday, with occasional Fridays, Saturdays, or evenings/holidays as needed.
