THE ROLE
Are you a visionary technical leader who loves to bring stories and environments to life? We are seeking a full-time SMI Production Director to provide strategic leadership to our production teams and oversee all production-related operations across our campuses.
Reporting directly to the SMI Service Programming Director, you will collaborate closely with campus teams to produce unforgettable worship experiences with technical excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creative Collaboration: Partner church-wide to orchestrate, implement, and evaluate Sunday service designs and multi-campus events; collaborate on the annual production budget.
• AVL & Stage Stewardship: Plan, design, and install stage set builds. Oversee weekly production systems—lyrics, graphics, video, lighting, and audio—and design/install new AVL systems for building retrofits or new developments.
• Volunteer & Team Development: Recruit, schedule, train, and pastor a thriving community of production volunteers and professional contractors. Run production training events and lead quarterly meetings.
• System Standards: Establish church-wide equipment standards, manage production assets, construct preventative maintenance schedules, and maintain auditorium/stage cleanliness.
• Local Campus Care: Collaborate with local campus staff to meet technical needs and step in as a campus Production Director when necessary.
WHO YOU ARE
• Technical Expert: Deep, practical knowledge of Audio, Video, and Lighting (AVL) systems, stage design, and real-time systems troubleshooting.
• Relational Leader: A heart for shepherding people, building volunteer community, and coaching contractors to do their best work.
• Organized Steward: Strong administrative, supply management, and inventory skills with a sharp eye for processes and budgets.
HOURS & BENEFITS
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week) Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance.
Compensation: Based on experience and education. Retirement: Up to 5% employer-matching 403(b) contribution (after 6 months).
Perks: Laptop provided (as needed); $100/mo cell phone reimbursement.
Paid Time Off: 2 weeks of accrual-based paid vacation plus paid church holidays.
