The Media Production Specialist will lead the technical and creative production of Sunday worship and other church events, overseeing streaming, sound, lighting, slides, and video. This role includes recruiting and scheduling media team volunteers, creating weekly worship slides and sermon series graphics, producing social media content, and collaborating with church staff to ensure every service runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, schedule and manage media team volunteer members (streaming, sound, lights, slides, video) for Sunday worship each week and other events as needed.
- Create slides each week for worship services (sermon, announcements, lyrics, liturgy, scripture, hymns, etc.) and set up presentations for each service.
- Create (with the team) graphics and a uniform theme for each sermon series.
- Create, produce and schedule social media posts for Facebook and Instagram.
- Assist in technical/mechanical issues with media in services/events.
- Attend Sunday morning rehearsal to assist the band and match lyrics with arrangements. Fill in on the team as needed each week.
- Update our podcasts with sermon audio each week.
- Make a playlist each week of the featured contemporary worship songs for use on our website and social media.
- Manage and direct videographers for individual projects and sermon or other video clips, as needed
Skill Set Required
- Have a working knowledge of the software used for creating graphics, streaming, lighting and slide presentations, as well as for sound control.
- Familiar with videography, producing podcasts, streaming platforms and software tools including Microsoft, ProPresenter, Canva or comparable platforms
- Team building, organizing schedules and training volunteers
- Competent in social media platforms including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram.
- Must be dependable, consistent and work collaboratively.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a part-time position (average 10-15 hours per week). Sunday mornings from 8:15am to 12:00pm are essential; other hours may be flexible. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
