Position Summary
The Director of Worship Music is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and leading the worship experience at Crossridge Church. This individual will use their musical gifts, creativity, and leadership to cultivate meaningful, engaging, and Christ-centered worship gatherings.
This is a part-time (minimum 20 hours/week), exempt position reporting directly to the Senior Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership & Service Planning
- Collaborate weekly with the Senior Pastor to plan and execute Sunday services, including order, flow, and creative elements
- Lead engaging worship experiences for weekly services and special events (e.g., Christmas Eve, Good Friday, youth and children’s events)
- Create an atmosphere that encourages participation, authenticity, and spiritual connection
Team Development & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and shepherd worship team members (musicians, vocalists, tech team, etc.)
- Lead weekly rehearsals and pre-service run-throughs
- Build a culture of excellence, unity, and spiritual growth within the team
Creative Direction
- Incorporate creative elements such as stage design, service flow, and thematic experiences
- Continually explore new ways to enhance worship while staying aligned with the church’s mission
Community Engagement
- Actively participate in the life of the church (small groups, events, gatherings)
- Build relationships within the congregation and foster a sense of community
- Be visible, approachable, and engaged with church attenders
Spiritual & Character Expectations
- Demonstrates a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ
- Practices regular spiritual disciplines (prayer, Bible reading, giving, etc.)
- Actively involved in church life, including small groups and mission efforts
- Lives with integrity, humility, and a teachable spirit
- Committed to unity, teamwork, and the overall mission of Crossridge Church
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting
- Strong musical ability (vocals and/or instrument leadership)
- Ability to lead, develop, and inspire volunteer teams
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Creative mindset with attention to detail in planning services
- Alignment with the beliefs, mission, and culture of Crossridge Church
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Based on experience and education
- Vacation: 2 weeks annually
