Position Overview
The AVL Leader serves as a vital support to the Worship Ministries at Christ Church. The position is designed to provide leadership in managing all aspects of the live audio, visual & lighting systems in the worship services. Maintaining and growing a volunteer ministry team is critical to supporting this position in the various expanding needs of the Worship department.
Compensation
$42,000-$50,000 based on experience, Health, Dental and Life Insurance, 401(k), Paid time off

Responsibilities
- Provide live audio, visual & lighting support for all worship services, rehearsals and events that happen in the worship center space ensuring that the technical aspects of the worship service run smoothly and that all aspects of worship can be seen, heard, and experienced comfortably without distractions.
- Recruit, schedule, and train volunteers for the technical team, including training events outside of regular musical rehearsals and worship. Ensure that all volunteer positions are filled as needed at all Christ Church worship events as well as outside rental events that happen in the main worship center space.
- Oversee the use, maintenance, and inventory of all audio, visual & lighting hardware and software in the worship center. Recommend and purchase additional equipment as needed.
- Provide consultation & training to other extension ministries of the church (Kids, Youth, Discipleship).
- Establish and adhere to an annual budget.
- Collaborate with the Video-Media Producer to ensure all live audio, visual, & lighting elements seamlessly tie together.
- Planning in consultation with the Director of Worship to be available to serve as the technical lead for extra services such as Christmas Eve, Easter, funerals and other productions/events.
- Coordinate personnel, payment, and technical needs for events originating outside the ministries of Christ Church (such as weddings, scout ceremonies and other building rentals needing tech support).
Required Qualifications
- A personal experience of conversion and commitment to Jesus Christ.
- A degree in an AVL related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-5 years of live AVL technician experience and working knowledge of AVL technologies specific to worship.
- Dante level 1 certification.
- In-depth technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to plan, budget, delegate.
- A self-starter and teachable heart, with a desire to grow spiritually, personally, and professionally.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
