Position Summary: The Video Production Lead creates and delivers compelling film, video, and live video content that supports Venture's weekend experiences, ministry initiatives, storytelling, and Venture Institute. This role combines creative storytelling with strong filmmaking, editing, and technical production expertise.
Working in close partnership with the Creative Director, this role helps move projects from concept through final delivery while developing the volunteers and in-house capabilities necessary to tell Venture's stories with excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, film, edit, and deliver compelling video content, including testimony stories, mission stories, mini-documentaries, message bumpers, sermon illustrations, promotional and highlight videos, lyric videos, and other creatively driven content.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director, Weekend Experience Team, and ministry leaders from concept through final delivery, bringing creative ideas and filmmaking expertise rather than functioning solely as a technical executor.
- Ensure work is timely, professional, authentic, and appropriately scaled to the purpose and audience.
- Steward and maintain film and video equipment, and develop efficient production workflows that make the most of Venture's staff, equipment, volunteers, time, and budget.
- Assist the Production Team with set designs and large-scale events such as Fall Festival.
- Partner with the Creative Director, Weekend Experience Team, and ministry leaders to plan and produce approved video content for weekend services, ministry initiatives, sermon support, stories, promotions, and significant weekends.
- Collaborate with Worship and Production to develop and execute effective video-based creative elements that integrate seamlessly into the weekend experience, including Christmas, Easter, and other significant services and events.
- Capture video and photography at significant ministry events as prioritized by the Creative Director, within team capacity and weekend priorities.
- Maintain all active video projects in the team's project management system, keeping project status, next steps, and due dates current while proactively communicating progress and raising concerns early when deadlines or deliverables are at risk.
- Maintain organized footage, project files, and finished deliverables in the department's shared storage using established naming, filing, and archival conventions.
- Partner with the Creative Director and Venture Institute leadership to produce podcasts, interviews, educational and instructional videos, and other approved video-based content.
- Provide filming, editing, recording, lighting, audio, and post-production expertise appropriate to each project.
- Own the podcast production and publishing process from recording through release, while developing efficient, repeatable workflows for ongoing Venture Institute content.
- In partnership with the Creative Director, lead the technical and creative execution of film and video production, including cameras, lighting, staging, filming, editing, post-production, and related equipment.
- Maintain strong proficiency in current and emerging film and video production trends, techniques, technologies, equipment, and software.
- Help steward, maintain, and recommend film and video equipment and production tools.
- Develop efficient production workflows that maximize Venture's staff, equipment, volunteers, time, and budget.
- Help strengthen Venture's in-house production capability and reduce reliance on outside production companies.
- Provide leadership for the Live/Broadcast Video ministry for weekend services, online services, and other live events as assigned.
- Partner closely with the Production Team and Creative Director on camera systems, placement, testing, and operation. The Production Team is responsible for the systems; this role is responsible for the live video team and the on-screen result.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop volunteers serving in film, video, broadcast, photography, and podcast production, using Planning Center or other established systems.
- Identify and develop high-capacity volunteers who can assume greater responsibility and leadership.

Qualifications – Education, Skills, Experience:
- High School Diploma and relevant industry experience, preferably in ministry.
- Demonstrated filmmaking and editing ability; portfolio required, including at least one story-driven piece and one live or broadcast example.
- Proficiency in a professional editing application (DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere) and working knowledge of lighting, audio capture, and camera operation.
- Experience directing live multi-camera video or a comparable live production environment.
- Experience leading or coordinating volunteers or a small crew and working within a project management system in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative and innovative thinker.
- Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Photography, animation, and/or motion graphic design are a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and move video, audio, and lighting equipment up to 40 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on stepladders as necessary.
Work Schedule: Weekdays (Monday-Thursday) 8:00 am-5:00 pm and weekend services or as scheduled by manager. This is a Weekend Experience Team position: Weekend services and other before or after-hours events are part of the regular workflow. Weekends are a priority and as such time off is limited and requires advance planning and pre-approval.
