Zeal Church is looking for a gifted, passionate, and spiritually mature Worship Pastor to lead and build our church's worship culture.
We aren't simply looking for someone who can sing well or lead a great set. We are looking for a pastor, leader, builder, and worshipper who can develop people, build healthy teams, and help create powerful worship experiences that lead people into the presence of God.
Zeal is a growing church in Nashville, Tennessee, with a passionate community, a strong volunteer culture, and a desire to create excellent, Spirit-filled environments where people can encounter Jesus.
What We Are Looking For
Our Worship Pastor should be someone who:
- Has a genuine, growing relationship with Jesus and a heart for the local church.
- Is an exceptional worship leader with a strong vocal presence and the ability to lead a room confidently.
- Knows how to create worship moments that are both Spirit-led and intentional.
- Understands musical dynamics, arrangements, transitions, keys, and how to build a worship set that flows.
- Has strong musical instincts and can lead musicians and vocalists effectively.
- Loves developing people and can build a healthy culture among worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and volunteers.
- Is highly relational and genuinely enjoys doing ministry with people.
- Can identify, recruit, train, and develop new worship team members.
- Is organized enough to lead the systems behind a growing worship ministry—not just what happens on stage.
- Carries excellence without creating an unhealthy or overly perfectionistic culture.
- Is comfortable receiving direction, collaborating creatively, and working closely with church leadership.
- Wants to help build something, not simply inherit a platform.
The Role
The Worship Pastor will provide leadership and pastoral oversight for Zeal Church's worship ministry.
This includes leading worship regularly while also developing other worship leaders so the ministry is never dependent on one person.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading worship for weekend services and other key church gatherings.
- Planning worship sets and helping shape the musical direction of our services.
- Recruiting, auditioning, onboarding, and developing musicians and vocalists.
- Coaching and developing additional worship leaders.
- Building and maintaining healthy worship-team culture.
- Overseeing rehearsals and ensuring teams are spiritually and musically prepared.
- Scheduling worship teams and maintaining strong communication with volunteers.
- Working closely with creative, production, and pastoral leadership to create cohesive weekend experiences.
- Developing systems that allow the worship ministry to grow as the church grows.
- Helping establish Zeal Church's sound and worship identity.
- Pastoring and caring for the people who serve within the worship ministry.
