Director of Communications

About the Role
Grace Church is looking for a creative, organized, and ministry-minded communicator to share who we are, what God is doing through our church, and how people can engage with the life and ministry of Grace.
The Director of Communications will lead Grace's internal and external communications across digital platforms, social media, website, graphic design, branding, print, and creative content. This role works closely with pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers, and the Director of Production to ensure that Grace communicates with clarity, creativity, and purpose.
Primary Responsibilities
Communications Strategy
- Develop and oversee communication strategies that support Grace's mission, vision, and ministry priorities.
- Advise ministry leaders and staff on effective communication and promotional strategies.
- Oversee churchwide communications, including e-News, Prayer Updates, announcements, and other churchwide messaging.
- Recruit, coordinate, and support a team of communications volunteers.
Digital Communications
- Oversee Grace's website and social media presence, ensuring content is current, engaging, and consistent with Grace's mission and brand.
- Manage digital content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, and the church website.
- Coordinate and produce weekly video announcements and other digital content as needed.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen Grace's digital communication and community engagement.
Branding
- Lead the creation of graphic, print, photographic, and video content that supports Grace's ministries and communications.
- Maintain consistent visual branding across communication platforms, including typography, colors, style, and overall design.
- Develop sermon, Sunday service, promotional, and ministry-related graphics in coordination with the Director of Production and Worship Arts Ministry.
Ministry Collaboration
- Partner with ministry leaders to communicate their ministries, events, and opportunities effectively.
- Provide creative and communications support for designated ministry areas.
- Collaborate with the Director of Production to ensure coordination between communications, creative content, and production.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor or Minister of Worship Arts.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a genuine heart for the mission of the local church.
- Aligns with the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of Grace Church.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills and can turn ideas into clear, compelling communication.
- Is creative, organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Works well both independently and collaboratively with pastors, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
- Has a strong eye for design, visual communication, branding, and consistency.
- Is comfortable taking initiative and learning new tools and technologies.
Preferred experience and skills include:
- Experience in communications, marketing, graphic design, digital media, or a related field.
- Experience with Canva, WordPress, Framer, social media platforms, and/or similar tools.
- Experience with photography, videography, and video editing.
- Experience communicating for a church, ministry, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organization.
