Movement Church is a non-denominational Christian Church located in Newport, Kentucky. Weekly attendance varies between 35 and 55 adult attendees and between 20 and 30 children/adolescents. Programming is divided between Movement Youth (6th to 12th Grade) and Movement Kids (5th grade and below). Movement Church is seeking a part time (20 hours/week) Youth Minister/Children’s Ministry Organizer. Compensation would be $22 - $25 per hour based on experience.
Candidates would be responsible for coordinating and leading a weekly discipleship group for adolescents between grades 6 and 12 (Movement Youth). This includes organizing content, recruiting volunteers, and primary teaching responsibilities.
Candidates for this position would also be responsible for preparing and organizing Movement Kids on Sunday Mornings. Movement Church uses Lifeway’s Gospel Project curriculum, so the content of the program is already developed. The weekly tasks associated with this portion of the job include ensuring that volunteers are scheduled and all materials are purchased, organized, and ready for volunteers on Sunday mornings. While the expectation is not for the candidate to be responsible for teaching every Sunday morning, they will serve as a volunteer teacher for the 1st - 5th grade classroom on rotation to help establish relationships with the kids that will graduate into Movement Youth.
Primary Responsibilities
? Lead Movement Youth (6th–12th): weekly discipleship, teaching on Sunday evenings, and volunteer coordination
? Build a discipleship strategy that helps students grow spiritually
? Plan youth events including retreats, camps, and outreach opportunities
? Recruit and equip volunteers for both Youth and Kids ministries
? Develop relationships with students and families and maintain communication with parents
? Oversee Movement Kids (birth–5th grade): schedule volunteers, prep Gospel Project curriculum, and teach 1st–5th grade monthly
Qualifications
? Growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with the church’s doctrine and mission
? Biblical character consistent with 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
? Strong communication and organization skills
? Experience in student or children’s ministry preferred
? Familiarity with curriculum (Youth or Kids) helpful
