Job Title: Associate Pastor
Job Description: The Associate Pastor serves under the direction of the Lead Pastor and assists in carrying out the mission, vision, and ministries of the church. This role is for a pastor who is called to shepherd people, disciple believers, develop volunteers, and support the overall ministry of the church while faithfully implementing the vision established by the Lead Pastor and Church Council.
The Associate Pastor is not the primary visionary leader of the church but serves as a trusted ministry partner who extends the pastoral care, leadership, and ministry effectiveness of the Lead Pastor. He must be a humble servant-leader who works well within established leadership structures, follows direction effectively, and demonstrates initiative without seeking to create a separate platform or competing vision.
This position requires a spiritually mature man who is adaptable, relational, teachable, and willing to serve wherever needed to advance the mission of the church.
Position Status: Full Time

Compensation: Negotiated
Reports to: Lead Pastor

- Providing pastoral care and member support
- Teaching, preaching, and discipleship as assigned

- Assisting with ministry planning, coordination, and administration
- Supporting church programs, events, and outreach efforts
- Developing leaders and helping members grow spiritually
- Overseeing ministry areas and special projects as assigned
- Helping implement the vision and direction established by the Lead Pastor and church leadership
- Serving wherever needed to advance the mission of the church
Required qualifications:
- Ministry experience preferred

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead volunteers and build ministry teams
- Effective organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to work closely with and under the direction of the Lead Pastor
- Demonstrated teachability, flexibility, and team-oriented leadership
Spiritual qualifications:
- Meet the biblical character qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9
- Demonstrate a clear calling to pastoral ministry
- Exhibit spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, and servant leadership
- Support and uphold the doctrine, mission, values, and leadership of the church
Philosophy:
The Associate Pastor serves as an extension of the Lead Pastor's ministry. He helps multiply the church's capacity for shepherding, discipleship, leadership development, and ministry effectiveness while operating within the vision and direction established by the Lead Pastor and church leadership.
The ideal candidate is a “second-chair leader” who is energized by helping another leader succeed and who finds fulfillment in advancing a shared vision rather than creating his own ministry platform.
