Job Description
The Production Manager is tasked with the comprehensive management & oversight of all technical facets of church services, events, & related activities. This role is crucial in ensuring a high-quality worship experience for both in-person & online attendees through proficient handling of audio, video, lighting, stage setup, & live streaming. The role will coordinate effectively with volunteers & collaborate closely with the Worship team, Creative team, & other relevant stakeholders to plan & execute seamless technical productions that are in line with the church's mission & values.
Key Responsibilities
· Stage Setup & Management:
o Assist with setting up & tearing down stage equipment for church services & events, including microphones, instruments, monitors, & other technical gear.
o Ensure all stage elements are arranged correctly & safely according to the service or event requirements.
o Collaborate with worship team & Creative Director to plan & execute stage layouts.
· Sound Management:
o Support the setup, operation, & maintenance of sound equipment for church services & events, including audio consoles, microphones, & speakers.
o Conduct sound checks before services & events to ensure optimal audio quality.
o Troubleshoot & resolve any sound-related issues during live productions.
· Lighting Management:
o Manage setup, programming, & operation of lighting equipment for services & events.
o Create & implement lighting designs that enhance the worship experience & align with the church's vision.
· Video & Live Streaming:
o Assist with setup & operation of video & live streaming equipment for services & events.
· Volunteer Coordination:
o Recruit, train, & manage a team of volunteers to assist with technical tasks, including stage setup, sound, & lighting.
o Schedule volunteers for services & events, ensuring adequate coverage & support.
o Be present for Bi-Monthly Worship/Tech Team Nights.
Qualifications
Core Technical Skills:
· Proven experience in technical production management, preferably in a church or similar environment.
· Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, & live streaming equipment & systems.
· Proficiency in technical production software & tools, including ProPresenter, ProVideoPlayer, Resi, & Switch Deck
Technical Equipment Proficiency:
· Proficient in using equipment such as Grand MA lighting console & software, Avid S6l mix desk, Behringer X32, Midas M32 mix desks, Behringer Wing, Allen & Heath SQ6 console & wireless systems by Shure & Sennheiser.
· Experience with cine cameras like Komodo RED & Black Magic.
· Proficiency in DMX protocol & Dante.
· Proficiency in Clear-Com Arcadia/FreeSpeak intercom platform.
Leadership & Management Skills:
· Excellent leadership & team management skills.
· Strong organizational & project management abilities.
· Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, ministry leaders, & volunteers.
· Proficient in Planning Center Services, including service orders & scheduling volunteers.
Problem-Solving & Communication:
· Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
· Excellent communication skills (verbal + written, active listening, direct & clear).
· Excellent interpersonal skills (positive attitude, integrity, teachable, team mindset).
Flexibility & Commitment:
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, & holidays as needed.
· Familiarity with worship service planning & execution.
· Critical thinking skills to analyze situations, make informed decisions, & provide solution-oriented approaches.
