Worship Director
The Worship Director position has responsibility for planning and shaping the musical worship and overall flow of all worship services. Additionally, the ongoing development of the Worship Team regarding vocalists and musicians from a musical and spiritual perspective will be the leadership responsibility of the Worship Director.
Duties Include but are not limited to the following:
- Song selection for Thursday and Sunday services that lead the congregants to fully engage the spiritual theme for each gathering
- Determining the best songs for the vocalists available
- Crafting the flow of each worship set
- Scheduling Worship Team members for Thursday and Sunday services
- Fostering an environment of creativity within the whole team
- Spiritual leadership and development of the Worship Team
- Planning and facilitating devotional times for the Worship Team
- Meeting one on one with members of the team for ongoing spiritual development
- Attending staff meetings and creative meetings
- Directing rehearsal times and Sunday run-throughs
- Identifying and utilizing the latest and best technology to enhance the worship environment
- Meeting with individuals and groups of musicians and vocalists for talent development
- Working with the Pastoral Team and the Production Director to develop the best worship environment for the church family
- Identify team members who have greater leadership potential for further development
- Work with Worship Team coaches to build a culture of growth and development throughout the team
- Work with the Production Director to facilitate the worship experiences across all campuses
- Develop worship leaders for a multi-campus environment
Education, Competencies and Character
- Candidate should have a clear testimony of faith as a committed follower of Jesus
- Candidate should have a high commitment to personal spiritual character in their family life and in their philosophy of leadership
- Candidate should be committed to unity within the local church body and be dedicated to leading the Worship Team to be an integral part of mission success for the whole congregation
- Candidate should have a well-developed theological understanding of worship and its place within the family of faith
- Candidate should be well-trained and experienced in leading teams in a contemporary multi-cultural worship environment
- Candidate should be proficient at acoustic guitar and/or keyboard
- Candidate should be capable of vocal leading and development of other vocalists
- Candidate should be musically capable of arranging songs and tags in creative and impactful ways to create the most engaging worship sets free from awkwardness
- Candidate should be able to identify the necessary variance of musical styles and song selections to contribute to universal engagement in a multi-cultural church environment
- Preferred experience leading in a multisite, multicultural environment
