Property & Maintenance Director

Position Overview
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is seeking a Property & Maintenance Director to lead the care, maintenance, and long-term stewardship of our campus. This is a hands-on, working leadership role responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for worship, education, and community use.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Grounds
· Perform and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative care
· Maintain buildings, landscaping, irrigation systems, and outdoor spaces
· Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and ready for daily use
Building Systems
· Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
· Coordinate major repairs and system replacements with vendors
· Monitor building conditions and identify needed improvements
Projects & Improvements
· Plan and manage facility improvement projects (e.g., HVAC, flooring, lighting, roofing)
· Obtain bids, coordinate contractors, and oversee project completion
· Prioritize maintenance and capital needs
Budget & Stewardship
· Track maintenance and utility budgets
· Control costs through smart purchasing and vendor management
· Provide input for annual budget planning
Compliance & Safety
· Ensure compliance with inspections and safety requirements (fire systems, alarms, equipment)
· Address issues proactively and maintain proper documentation
Coordination & Support
· Work with vendors, contractors, and volunteers
· Support church services, events, and school operations (setup, logistics, facility readiness)
· Assist leadership with facility planning and decision-making
Qualifications
· Experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related field
· Strong hands-on skills (plumbing, electrical, general repair)
· Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
· Experience coordinating vendors and managing projects
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Ability to perform physical work (lifting, climbing, outdoor tasks)

Position Details
