Position Open: Worship Pastor/Director
Grace Community Covenant Church is seeking a Worship Pastor or Director who will lead our congregation into authentic, Spirit-filled worship that draws us into a deeper relationship with Jesus and unites our church family across generations. We desire a humble, passionate follower of Jesus with a genuine relationship with Him, a pure heart, and a pastor’s heart who embodies the character qualities of a shepherd as described in 1 Timothy 3 and operates in the equipping ministry gifts outlined in Ephesians 4. This is a ministerial calling more than a music position.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our Lead Pastor to thoughtfully plan and lead our contemporary worship services and special events. Our current setup is well-equipped for Western Americana folk rock. However, we welcome a leader who can incorporate a wide variety of musical genres while keeping music contemporary, singable, and engaging for the whole congregation. You will thoughtfully direct the band, choose singable keys, and create arrangements that encourage full participation so that everyone—from children to grandparents—can worship without stumbling over the music. You’ll help us foster an environment where faces are visible and the atmosphere feels relational, allowing space for intimate moments in God’s presence, spontaneous flow when the Holy Spirit leads, invitations to sit, kneel, or raise hands, and songs simple enough for even our youngest to join with joy.
You will help us create a culture that’s approachable, authentic, and full of humility and joy all centered around Jesus. You will honor the legacy of what God has built here, including the integration of some classic hymns and popular contemporary worship styles while also helping looking ahead to where the Spirit is leading in generations to come. As a team player, you will recruit and equip musicians and vocalists. You’ll work collaboratively with staff, musicians, sound engineers, and the tech team in a spirit of mutual respect. With a heart for kids, students, and every generation, you will communicate clearly, and receive feedback graciously. The Worship Pastor may also fulfill other ministry duties as needed to serve the church.
You will help us choose songs that speak directly to God, proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, remain focused on Him rather than us, and aim for biblically accurate lyrics well grounded in Scripture. We especially value songs with an up-tempo, victorious, joyful, and celebratory feel, slow-to-moderate lyrical pacing that makes them easy for the congregation to sing, “we” language instead of individual “me” language, emphasis on the resurrection, ascension, and return of Christ, and simple song structures with straightforward chords and lyrics. Our goal is to consistently select songs that are highly effective for congregational worship and help people genuinely know and encounter God together.
We are also committed to excellent organization and teamwork. The Worship Pastor will fully commit to the maximal use of Planning Center for service planning, song management, scheduling, and all related administrative tasks.
We offer competitive wages and the opportunity to serve in a grace-filled context that values genuine worship, biblical unity, and the presence of God above. If you sense God stirring your heart toward this role, we invite you to apply prayerfully.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and links to recent worship leading videos or recordings that reflect your heart and skill. We look forward to discerning together how the Lord may lead us. (jobs@accessgrace.org)
