About the Position
The Worship and Media Pastor is responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing the church’s worship and media ministries. This role provides spiritual, creative, and technical leadership to deliver Christ-centered worship experiences that incorporate both blended (traditional and modern elements) and contemporary worship styles. The Worship and Media Pastor collaborates with pastoral staff, volunteers, and technical teams to create engaging, excellent, and theologically sound worship environments for in-person and online congregations.
Reporting:
The Worship Pastor will report directly to the Lead Pastors.
SALARY
This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) with competitive compensation. Based on character, demonstrated gifting, effectiveness, and ministry growth & development, this role has strong potential to develop into a full-time position with a long-term future.
Work Hours: Sunday service: 6:30 AM-12:30 PM, Wednesday service: 5:00 PM-9:00 PM, Weekly Rehearsals Tuesdays 7:00 PM-9:00 PM, Office Hours: Tuesday-Thursday 10:30 AM-1:30 PM Special Events, seasonal programming, and conferences as needed, etc.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Worship Leadership
- Plan and lead God-honoring worship services for the blended and contemporary worship services.
- Oversee and lead weekly band and praise team rehearsals.
- Ensure sound doctrine is maintained in all music used within the church.
- Continually identify and train praise team, and band members.
- Create worship environments that are God-honoring and excellent in order to lead God’s people into a personal worship experience.
- Prepare an annual budget for the Worship Ministry.
- Oversee the maintenance and replacement of worship related equipment when necessary.
Media and Production Leadership
- Oversee the Media Team volunteer director as well as sound, lighting, video, and live streaming volunteers.
- Competency with sound board, lighting, video, and live streaming.
- Work with Media leads to continually identify and train new Media Team volunteers.
- Work with church staff to appropriately use social media for events and ministries.
- Prepare an annual budget for the Media Ministry.
- Oversee the maintenance and replacement of media related equipment when necessary.
Creative & Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with church leadership to develop long-term worship and media strategies.
- Participate in creative planning for sermon series, church events, and outreach initiatives.
- Contribute to branding, storytelling, and visual communication efforts.
Pastoral Leadership
- Work with the Pastoral Staff to shepherd and care for the members of Faith Life Church.
- This includes but is not limited to leading in prayer, Bible studies, visitation of members and guests, assisting in outreach and missional events, and performing and coordinating music for weddings and funerals as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings and other leadership meetings.
- Intentionally engage in evangelism and discipleship, encouraging and equipping the members of FLC and the music and media ministries to do the same.
- Serve as a liaison for Ministry Teams that may or may not be worship/media related.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven experience blending and leading a variety of music styles including gospel, traditional and contemporary worship in a church setting.
- Musical proficiency (vocals and/or instrument) with strong leadership presence.
- Experience with worship planning software (e.g., Planning Center).
- Knowledge of audio, video, and livestream systems preferred.
- Ability to lead and develop volunteers across multiple generations.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
