Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Gastonia is hiring a nursery worker who helps create a safe, nurturing, child-centered environment. Applicants should be energetic, gracious, friendly, and nurturing, as well as willing to partner with parents in empowering the spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of all children within our care.
Specific responsibilities:
- Communicating with parents regarding any special needs of infants or children.
- Maintaining close supervision of children, including feeding, diapering, and potty breaks as needed.
- Being engaged with children.
- Ensuring that children are properly cared for, including diapering procedures and behavior policies.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding information shared by or with staff and parents.
Schedule:
- Nursery Schedule: Sundays, 8:15 AM – 12:30 PM
- Wednesdays during Advent and Lent, 6:45 – 8:15 PM
- Parents' Night Out Schedule: 1 Saturday/month, 4:30 – 9:15 PM
- Parents' Morning Out Schedule: 1 Weekday/month, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, or preschool children
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of basic safety and health regulations regarding child care
- Passing a drug test and applicable background checks.
