Job Title: Worship Pastor (with Potential Teaching Responsibilities)

Position Summary
The Worship Pastor will lead and oversee all aspects of the worship and production ministries, cultivating a dynamic, Spirit-led environment while ensuring services are executed with excellence and clarity. This leader will build, equip, and support teams of musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers while working closely with the Lead Pastor to support the overall vision of the church.
Depending on gifting, experience, and calling, this role may expand to include preaching and teaching responsibilities, which may influence whether the role is structured as part-time or full-time.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
• Lead engaging, contemporary worship experiences that are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
• Plan and organize worship sets for weekly services, special events, and seasonal gatherings
• Create space for both well-planned and spontaneous worship moments
Technical & Production Oversight
• Oversee all technical aspects of services including audio, video, lighting, and presentation
• Lead and develop the production/AVL (audio, video, lighting) team
• Ensure high-quality sound, clear visuals, and distraction-free environments for worship
• Coordinate service flow, transitions, and cues to ensure smooth execution• Maintain and steward all worship and production equipment
• Work with software systems (presentation, tracks, planning tools, and service planning tools)
Team Development
• Recruit, train, and support musicians, vocalists, and production volunteers
• Build a culture of excellence, unity, spiritual growth, and servant leadership
• Lead regular rehearsals and production run-throughs
Service & Creative Planning
• Collaborate with pastoral staff to design cohesive, engaging services
• Integrate Scripture, prayer, creative elements, and media into services
• Plan and execute special services and events
Spiritual Leadership
• Model a lifestyle of worship, prayer, and biblical integrity
• Encourage a church culture that is open and responsive to the work of the Holy Spirit
• Engage in the broader life and ministry of the church
Potential Additional Responsibilities (Based on Calling & Experience)
Preaching & Teaching
• Preach during weekend services or special gatherings as part of the teaching team
• Assist with sermon series planning and spiritual direction of services
• Lead classes, small groups, or leadership development environments
Qualifications
Spiritual & Personal
• A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit
• A heart for worship, discipleship, and the local church
• Alignment with the core beliefs and values of the Assemblies of God fellowship
• Strong character, humility, and relational leadership
Experience & Skills
• Proven experience leading contemporary worship in a church setting• Strong vocal ability and proficiency on guitar and/or piano
• Demonstrated experience overseeing or working with church production/AVL systems
• Strong organizational and service-planning skills
• Ability to lead both structured and spontaneous worship moments
• Experience building and leading volunteer teams
• Familiarity with sound systems, mixing, lighting, and presentation software
For Teaching Role (Preferred if applicable):
• Experience in preaching/teaching in a local church context
Education (Preferred)
• Ministry, music, production, or theological training is helpful but not required
Compensation
• Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities
• Role may be structured as part-time or full-time, depending on the level of responsibilities assumed
• Additional compensation may be provided for regular preaching/teaching responsibilities
