Job description:
The Media and Technology Director is responsible for the creation and dissemination of social media through Claremont United Church of Christ’s social media channels, coordinating and directing the church’s weekly livestream, and is also responsible for the upkeep and use of all technology on campus.
Responsibilities Include:
Livestream
· Production of a professional quality livestream of Sunday Worship and other requested church events.
· Coordinate with other staff to strategize and optimize each session. Assess online analytics, monitor growth and keep pastors and staff informed.
· Multimedia creation, editing and management of videos, images, audio from the livestream as requested.
Church Technology
· Manage, support, and provide innovation of all technologies.
· Set-up technology on campus for worship and events.
· Responsible for Audio Visional systems for the entire campus.
· Identify and implement technology best practices, processes, and strategies.
· Research, procure and implement technology and solutions as needed.
· Oversee hardware, software, licensing, and subscriptions.
· Data preservation, storage, and access to technological information.
· Communicate technology status to senior pastors, collaborate with staff to meet their technology needs, improve productivity, and address barriers, and ensure community safety through the technology process.
Social Media
· Oversee, manage, and support all technical aspects of the online presence and marketing needs. These include the website, podcasts, social media channels, etc.
· Provide expertise on enhancing online platforms, encouraging engagement, and cultivating growth.
· Create social media posts, stories, reals, and videos on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, podcast channels and more.
External Events
· Work with guests to support technology needs for scheduled external events such as funerals, weddings, celebrations, seminars, etc. for additional compensation.
Skills and Qualifications:
· College degree or equivalent preferred
· Demonstrated knowledge of livestreaming
· Demonstrated knowledge of social media
· Demonstrated knowledge of technology management and support
· Demonstrated knowledge of audio/visual management
· Demonstrated knowledge of website development
· Knowledge of SEO and web analytics tools
· Knowledge of video production
· Creativity and innovation.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize duties
· Outgoing, friendly personality with a sense of Christian mission, and sense of humor.
· Strong written and verbal communication
· Excellent customer service
Physical Demands:
· Frequently bending, kneeling, and lifting to maintain computers and other technology equipment including under desks and in the server room.
· Frequently sitting for long periods of time when editing and uploading media.
· Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery. The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office environment to access cabinets, office machinery, etc. This position includes frequently repeating motions that may include wrists and hands.
· Occasional need to move Audio Visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various church service and event needs.
