OVERVIEW
This role requires a committed leader who is passionate about serving the congregation of Heartwood Church through music and media. Experience playing and singing from keys or guitar is required. This person will need to be flexible and creative due to a consistently growing and changing environment. Additionally, this role requires a shepherd’s heart, leadership, vision, confidence, ability to be a good teammate, and the willingness to learn. This person should demonstrate the spiritual calling, giftedness, and maturity required for a position of ministry leadership within the denomination; among other things, the individual and Heartwood Church must agree that God has called him/her to serve Him in a ministry leadership position within the C&MA, and has equipped him/her with appropriate gifts, training and skills for such calling; further, the devotion, character, lifestyle, and values of the person who is called to serve in this capacity must demonstrate the reality of his/her commitment to the Lord and His Word. The Heartwood Worship Leader will work with the Lead Pastor to design and implement Sunday gatherings. As a staff member, the Heartwood Worship Leader is expected to contribute input and support for the overall ministry of Heartwood Church. The individual should understand and agree that this position is a position of ministerial leadership within the C&MA, and that the position plays an important role in the expression and exercise of the Christian beliefs of the C&MA, and that the position is subject to the “ministerial exception” legal doctrine.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that song selection and the worship environment support the mission of Heartwood.
• Prepare chord charts, lyrics, slides and videos for Sunday gatherings.
• Recruit, schedule, and support all musicians and volunteers.
• Report on worship team activities and needs to the leadership of Heartwood.
• Manage and maintain all instruments and equipment.
• Offer special worship events throughout the year, as desired.
• Participate in various church staff events, and duties as required.
