Purpose of Position:
Assist the Senior Pastor as the coordinator of worship services as the Worship Leader for the church. The Worship Leader is responsible for working with the Worship & Arts Director in organizing celebrative, transformative, meaningful worship services and serving as the Pastor's liaison during congregational worship. This position will alsoassist the department leader facilitate the administrative efforts and discipleship efforts of the Worship & Arts Division.
Specific Duties:
▪ Help plan celebrative and meaningful worship services under the direction of the Senior Pastor and in conjunction with the Worship & Arts Director.
▪ Manage the time, order, flow, transitions, and quality of the worship services.
▪ To facilitate the development of a worship atmosphere characterized by quality and conducive to life changing encounters with God.
▪ Lead the church’s worship services, including congregational singing.
▪ Coordinate and direct the church’s praise groups and choir during worship services (including conducting rehearsals).
▪ Coordinate the selection of musical selections with Worship & Arts Director/Minister of Music.
▪ Arrange, select and direct special singing or instrumental groups and soloists.
▪ Plan and direct at least one special musical a year.
▪ Oversee and recruit assistant directors to lead the youth and children’s music groups.
▪ Organize and store sheet music and books for church choirs and musical groups.
▪ Work with drama director to incorporate skits and drama into worship
▪ Make sure platform and sanctuary are properly arranged for services and special productions.
▪ Pray for, uplift and minister to those who are involved in the worship ministry.
▪ Meet with and discuss worship plan with Worship & Arts Director and the Sr. Pastor on a quarterly basis.
Skills:
Ability to lead and promote unity within a group. Outgoing, energetic, expresser with a passion for glorifying God and edifying the saints through music and worship. Must be a stable, mature Christian with a spiritual gift of Exhortation. The Worship Leader needs to allocate time on a weekly basis preparing for ministry in addition to providing meetings/training within the Worship and Arts division.
