Ministry Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Senior Pastor Effective: October 2025

Job Summary
As the first point of contact for many who engage with the church, the Ministry Communications Coordinator serves as a key point of connection for members, guests, and the wider community. This role ensures that the daily life and mission of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church (GALC) are communicated with clarity, warmth, and creativity—both in person and through digital and print communications.
Work Schedule
Regular on-site hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend hours will be scheduled for special events and worship service with your supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Provide a professional welcome to all who contact or visit the church office.
- Create weekly worship bulletins, slides, and other worship-related communications.
- Develop, edit, and distribute digital and print materials that support congregational life and ministry including weekly emails and monthly newsletters.
- Coordinate and maintain a consistent and engaging social media presence for GALC including current pictures and videos.
- Update the church website weekly to reflect current ministry events and content.
- Maintain and update the church master calendar in coordination with the staff and community building partners.
- Ensure livestream distribution for remote worship services, troubleshooting as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in staff meetings and other collaborative planning sessions.
- Ensure general building security when on site.
- Manage the church office equipment and supplies.
- Attend to other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience with marketing or communications.
- Strong literacy in computer and digital communication tools.
- Familiarity with the ELCA or church communications is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is primarily completed in the church building during regular office hours.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and in writing.
- Some light lifting (e.g., office supplies or worship materials) occasionally required.

Company Description
Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church is a church of the ELCA located on the eastside of St. Paul. We are a progressive congregation that works hard at creating community both with our membership and our neighbors. As a church we provide a free weekly dinner to the community, serving on average of 200 people per week. Our building is utilized by a variety of different organizations, making our campus a lively place.
