SECRETARY/OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00per hour 15-20 hours/week

Overview

Join our vibrant community as a Church Secretary/Office Administrator, where your organizational skills and warm communication will help keep our church operations running smoothly. This vital role offers an opportunity to serve our congregation by completing administrative tasks with energy and dedication. As the first point of contact, you’ll create a welcoming environment for visitors and members alike, ensuring that all office functions are handled efficiently and professionally. Your contributions will support the spiritual and community-focused mission of our church, making a meaningful difference every day.

Responsibilities

· Create weekly worship bulletin using publisher templates, find and insert religious artwork appropriate to the weekly pastoral message, create PowerPoint slides for weekly prayers, hymns, announcements

· Previous office experience in a secretarial role, preferably within a church

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with strong computer literacy skills in Publisher and PowerPoint

· Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for church/congregational setting

· Experience handling confidential information with integrity and discretion

· Manage weekly written communication for and with the Pastor and congregation

· Answer phone promptly with courteous and immediate follow up to the church leadership, congregation, community leaders, and service providers

· Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, and document proofreading to ensure confidentiality, organization and continuity for all church leadership and the wider church

· Oversee calendar management for church events, meetings, and appointments using Microsoft Office tools

· Support office management duties including supply inventory, correspondence, and clerical support for staff and clergy
